When I am working on a quilt, I often digitize and stitch several ideas until I come up with the one I decide to use on my quilt.
Most of the borders on this page I created with my Geisha In The Snow Quilt in mind. Some were created as possible borders for other quilts.
I started the Geisha In The Snow Quilt thinking I would enter it into the Hoffman Quilt Contest 2011.
After a late start, I realized I would never get it finished in 3 months. In fact, I didn't finish this quilt until January 2016!

However, once I saw the finished embroidery with the rest of the quilt, I knew it was not quite right. Rather than toss the two stitched lengths into the 'test-stitch' bag to use on something else, I decided to make a hanging sleeve out one of the lengths. It adds an unexpected 'Wow' to the back of my quilt!
