This is my second completed Art quilt. It also has the distinction of being the first quilt to win a prize in a national contest! Thalia is one of the 3 graces who's name means The Bringer of Flowers. The rules for this contest state that the entire piece had to be created using only Kauffman fabrics including the back of the quilt. Using the required Nouveau Garden Collection, I created a serene image of a woman who appears to be standing in front of a large arched rose window. The details of the face were created by free-form thread-painting machine embroidery. |

I did a bit more thread painting on this quilt than the Woodland Nymph. Also, I created an elaborate 'Rose-Window' effect with the existing pattern in the required fabric |
